The mules are coming to town! To celebrate and raise awareness for the Great Fish Community Challenge, we're bringing a few of the critters who help us in the Bob to Whitefish Credit Union (300 Baker Ave.) on Tuesday, August 19th.
Join us at the Great Fish Launch Party on August 12 at Glacier Bank Park, home of the Range Riders!
This free, family-friendly event begins at 5 p.m. with complimentary food and drinks. Visit fun, interactive booths to learn about the important work of all 85 Flathead Valley nonprofits that are raising funds in this year's Challenge. Plus, all attendees will receive a chance to win one of five $1,000 grants for the nonprofit of their choice!

Gather ‘round for a rowdy bunch of stories straight from the Bob – we’re hosting more campfire tales at Sacred Waters Brewing Co.! This lively evening will celebrate the launch of our 2025 Volunteer Adventure schedule, and kick off our spring fundraising campaign to get our full schedule of crews into the backcountry this summer.
Featuring special guests Roy Jacobs, hunting guide and conservations, and Ben Chappelow, FWP game warden, as our storytellers for the evening.

Golden eagles are one of the largest aerial predators in Northwest Montana – or as Lisa says, “the grizzly bears of the sky.” Unfortunately, recent data indicates a decline in their numbers and they’ve been listed as a Species of Concern. Join us to learn more about Glacier National Park’s raptor / golden eagle observations and nest monitoring to better understand these avian predators, including the role that lookouts play in aiding park staff in observations and searching for nests. Hosted by Whitefish Community Foundation, this event celebrates the wide-ranging impact of local non-profits in the Flathead Valley. Visit fun, interactive booths hosted by the 80 local nonprofits participating in the 2024 Great Fish Community Challenge, join in the 5K or 1-mile events, and enjoy a delicious lunch.
The top three male and female finishers in the Great Fish 5K and Great Fish 5K Para-Athlete categories will win a grant for their favorite participating nonprofit. Plus, donors who give $100 or more to one participating nonprofit during the event will be eligible to win one of 10 matching grants for their designated nonprofit. We’re excited to partner with the Backcountry Horsemen of the Flathead and Flathead Valley Community College to present an evening of campfire storytelling on the 60th anniversary of the Wilderness Act. Join Smoke Elser and Eva-Maria Maggi as they share tales from their book, Hush of the Land, that chronicles the six-decade quest of packer and outfitter Arnold “Smoke” Elser to protect wild lands by bringing thousands of people deep into the mountains of Montana on horseback.
