Stories from the Backcountry: River Edition

Wednesday, April 24th from 6-8 PM
Sacred Waters Brewing Co., Kalispell

Circle 'round to hear stories straight from the Wild and Scenic South Fork of the Flathead River! As part of Sacred Waters Brewing Co.'s Stories from the Backcountry series, we're hosting a campfire chat featuring Spotted Bear River Ranger Fischer Gangemi and his tales from a lifetime of recreating and working on this world-class river. Free and open to all!

About the Speaker: Fischer Gangemi was born and raised in the Flathead Valley and has spent most of his life working and recreating in the surrounding public lands. In high school he started volunteering on BMWF trips and later became our first intern. At 18, Fischer moved into Big Prairie Ranger Station in the Upper South Fork where he worked five seasons on a wilderness trail crew. In 2019 he returned to Spotted Bear Ranger Station as the lead river ranger where he’s spent the last five seasons.

Fischer now spends his summers living at Spotted Bear Ranger Station leading the river program, and his winters in Patagonia Chile leading volunteer trail projects. He loves supporting, sharing, and providing recreational opportunities into public lands around the world. And he absolutely loves the Bob Marshall Wilderness and South Fork of the Flathead. We can’t wait to hear his stories!
