Project Description

Join fellow Wilderness stewards for some good times in the Great Bear Wilderness! Volunteers will meet the Crew Leaders the morning of Saturday, June 29th in Hungry Horse and caravan the to the trail head.   Base camp will be on the banks of Geifer Creek on the edge of the Great Bear Wilderness. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday volunteers will work on trail #660 and #165.  Clearing fallen trees and reestablishing the trail bed (tread) will be the primary focus. Crosscuts, pulaskis, shovels, and hand saws will be the tools of choice. Tuesday after work the group will pack up and drive back out to civilization. BMWF will provide all food, tools, and group gear. For a packing list and other helpful information click here:


MEETING PLACE: 

Volunteers will meet at the Hungry Horse Ranger Station and caravan to the trailhead.
