Project Description

This project will begin at Mortimer Gulch trailhead, and you will hike along Gibson Reservoir at low levels since it’s late in the summer. Your hike will take you past K Bar L Guest Ranch as you enter into the Wilderness. Your camp location is along Whiskey Creek, and the work will consist of mostly drainage work. Expect to be cleaning and replacing drains along Whiskey creek to Circle Creek. This area is beautiful open hillsides with Aspen groves that will need maintenance to prevent soul sucking mud holes…nobody likes those! Enjoy a day off mid week to explore and fish the North Fork of the Sun River, or hike the surrounding trails.

BMWF will provide all food, tools and group gear. For a packing list and other helpful information:

MEETING PLACE:

Volunteers will meet the BMWF Crew Leader in Augusta at the USFS Information Station located on Manix St.. From there the group will caravan to the trailhead and camp for the night for an early morning start on the 7th.
