Project Description

Looking for a way to give back to your public lands in tangible ways? Come join us and our friends at the Glacier Two Medicine Alliance for some good times in the Badger Two Medicine area! The Glacier-Two Medicine Alliance is “Dedicated to the protection, stewardship, and shared enjoyment of the culturally- and ecologically-irreplaceable wild lands of the Badger-Two Medicine and its interconnected ecosystems.”

Get dirty and a bit sore while experiencing a true connection with the landscape through Stewardship. Volunteers will meet the Crew Leader Friday morning at the trailhead.  After sorting gear and supplies for the packer and shouldering your backpack, you will hike the 4 miles into camp. Basecamp will be on on the banks of Hyde creek along trail #139 . Saturday and Sunday volunteers will be working on trail #118 & #139. Reestablishing the trail bed (tread) and clearing and brushing trees will be the primary focus.  Pulaskis, shovels and hand saws will be the tools of choice. After work relax by the river or try your luck at fishing! Sunday the group will pack up and hike back out to the trailhead and civilization.

So come join in on showing the incredible Badger Two Medicine area some love!

BMWF will provide all food, tools and group gear. For a packing list and other helpful information:

Volunteers will meet at the Lubec trailhead on Hwy 2 just west of East Glacier
