BMWF #4: Stanton Lake

Type of Project: hiking, trailwork
Rating: Moderate
Trip Dates: 06/19/2010
Location: Great Bear Wilderness off of Hwy 2
Work: This project is perfect for folks that want to volunteer, but don’t have a lot of time or trail experience. Stanton is one of the most popular and scenic trails in the Great Bear Wildernss, which leads to Stanton Lake and affords spectacular views into Glacier National Park. Our crew will work to open up the trail for early season travel. That means cross-cut sawing, cutting back overgrown vegetation on the trail and maintaining drainage--there is something for everyone! Once you submit your registration to BMWF, you will receive more detailed project information including a suggested packing list and driving directions.

Participants should bring a daypack with lunch, snacks, water (3 liters recommended) and lightweight rain gear. Sturdy boots, long pants (no shorts!) and work gloves are required. All tools and safety gear will be provided.
Total Miles: 4-6
Elevation Gain: +750'
RSVP: FULL
