Project Description

Join your fellow co-workers for some good times in the Great Bear Wilderness! Volunteers will meet the Crew Leader Thursday morning in Hungry Horse and caravan the hour drive to the trailhead.  After sorting gear and supplies for the packer and shouldering your backpack, you will hike the 5 miles into camp. Basecamp will be on the shores of Moose lake in the Great Bear Wilderness. Friday-Sunday volunteers will be working on trail #260 around the lake and up toward Elk lake.  Clearing down trees and reestablishing the trail bed (tread) will be the primary focus.  Pulaskis, shovels and hand saws will be the tools of choice. After work relax by the lake or try your luck at fishing! Monday the groups will pack up and hike back out to the trailhead and civilization. BMWF will provide all food, tools and group gear.
