Project Description

 Volunteers will meet the BMWF Crew Leader and volunteer packer at the Benchmark trailhead.  After sorting gear and supplies for the packer and shouldering your backpack, you will hike the 3 miles into camp. Basecamp will be on the banks of Straight Creek. Sunday-Tuesday volunteers will be working on trail #212 past the WIlderness boundary.  Clearing down trees and reestablishing the trail bed (tread) will be the primary focus.  Pulaskis, shovels and hand saws will be the tools of choice. After work relax by the creek of hike to Patrol Lookout tower (about 7 miles round trip and 2,500' elevation gain) Wednesday the groups will pack up and hike back out to the trailhead and civilization. BMWF will provide all tools and  safety gear. Montana Academy will provide all the food, personal gear and cooking equiptment.  For a packing list and other helpful information:
