Project Description

With your help we can make this popular route into the Wilderness even more beautiful. Volunteers will meet the Crew Leader Tuesday morning and caravan the to the trailhead.  After sorting gear and supplies for the packer and shouldering your backpack, you will hike the 6 miles into camp. Basecamp will be near the North Fork Cabin in the Scapegoat Wilderness. The North Fork Cabin on the Blackfoot River makes a beautiful base camp and a day off gives you a chance to hike or fish in the river.Wednesday- Saturday (with a day off in between) volunteers will be spraying and hand pulling a variety of noxious weeds. Focus will be on pulling and bagging knapweed before it flowers and goes to seed. Cheatgrass, toadflax and hounds tongue are also present and will be treated and mapped using GPS.  Sunday the groups will pack up and hike back out to the trailhead and civilization. BMWF will provide all food, tools and group gear. For a packing list and other helpful information click on the button below.
