VOICES of the WILDERNESS Art Auction and Artist-Wilderness- Connection Presentation Friday, November 5th, 2010 Glacier Discovery Square, Columbia Falls Sometimes the rarer, the beautiful can only emerge or survive in isolation. In a similar manner some degree of withdrawal serves to nurture man’s creative powers. The artist and scientist bring out of the dark void, like the mysterious universe itself, the unique, the strange and unexpected. -Loren Eiseley Join us to celebrate wilderness from the eyes of local artists. The Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation presents the 4th annual Voices of the Wilderness art exhibition, silent auction and fundraiser at the Glacier Discovery Square in Columbia Falls on November 5th, 2010. Admire art produced in a wilderness setting from our exhibiting artists, bid on work made by area artisans in the silent auction, and mingle with other wilderness and art appreciators. Participating artists from the Artist*Wilderness*Connection artist-in-residence program will be presenting their work and highlights of their experience during the residency. The artist in residence program is sponsored by the US Forest Service, Hockaday Museum of Art in Kalispell, Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation and Swan Ecosystem Center. Artists' work from this program will be on display at the November 5th event. Enjoy an evening mingling with drinks and dessert and show your support for the Bob Marshall Wilderness, beautiful art, and local Montana artists. Doors open at 7 PM. All proceeds from the Voices of the Wilderness event will support the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation's efforts in trail maintenance, campsite restoration and noxious weed eradication in The Bob. |
