Project Description

On this 5-day Wilderness adventure, you will enjoy the camaraderie of fellow volunteers, be physically challenged, and most importantly, have fun!  The 5-mile backpack to base camp, just below Route Creek Pass, will be rewarded with views of rugged cliffs on Lonesome Ridge, Cave Mountain, and Old Baldy.  Work on Trail #108 up to the pass will include limbing encroaching trees, reestablishing the trail bed (tread), and rock removal.  Pulaskis, shovels, and hand saws will be the tools of choice. This trail accesses some of the most remote places in The Bob and Montana!  Your work on this trail is needed to keep these wild places accessible to backpackers and horse parties.  Work days will be Wednesday through Friday with the hike back out to the trailhead and civilization on Saturday.

BMWF will provide all food, tools and group gear. For a packing list and other helpful information click on the button below.

MEETING PLACE:

Volunteers will meet at the Rocky Mountain Ranger Station in Choteau Montana and caravan to the trailhead.
