Project Description

If you are looking for a true Wilderness experience, this is it! The Danaher Valley is known for its expansive grassy meadows with sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. Getting there is not for the faint of heart, however. The 20-mile hike will be broken into two days. Volunteers will camp near the Danaher cabin. Your help is needed to keep the meadows pristine and untrammeled. Under the guidance of a crew leader, volunteers will treat unwanted invasive species using backpack sprayers. Volunteer packers will carry the group food, tools, and kitchen gear. You only need to carry personal gear.

MEETING PLACE:

Volunteers will meet the BMWF Crew Leader at Trixie's in Ovando, MT on the evening of the 30th. From there the group will caravan to the trailhead and camp for the night. The hike into the Danaher will begin early on July 1st!
