Granite Cabin, on the Middle Fork of the Wild and Scenic Flathead River, is a popular destination for river runners, fishermen, and is a favorite spot for Plein-Air artists. The spectacular scenery of the river valley and cirque basin around Castle Lake will make the workday pass by. Volunteers will check on weevils to ensure they are eating the Toadflax at the lake. Other work includes pulling and mapping weed infestations along the trail. Bring your fishing pole and paint brushes; a day off in the middle of the trip will give you a well deserved day of rest.
BMWF will provide all food, tools and group gear. For a packing list and other helpful information:
Volunteers will meet at the Hungry Horse Ranger Station and caravan to the trailhead.
