Project Description

Join fellow Girl Scouts for some outdoor fun in the woods! Girls will experience teamwork and fun while learning new skills and working in the outdoors! The group will meet the BMWF crew leader at the Indian Meadows trailhead area and settle in and make camp for the day. Tuesday and Wednesday you will spend the day learning how to safely use tools and put a little sweat into maintaining some area trails. Clearing down trees and reestablishing the trail bed (tread) and opening up the trail corridor will be the primary focus.  Pulaskis, shovels and hand saws will be the tools of choice. After work relax by a campfire, play games or explore the area.  Thursday  the group will finish up a little work, pack up and drive back into civilization.

The group will be camping at a Forest Service administrative site near the main Indian Meadows trailhead. You will be using a cabin for cooking and food storage and camping in your tents nearby. A vault toilet is on site as well as potable water.

BMWF will provide all food, tools and group gear.

Volunteers will meet the BMWF crew leader at the Indian Meadows Forest Service Admin cabin.
