Project Description

Heart Lake is a popular destination for backpackers, day hikers, and stock users. The area around the lake has become hardened and bare, and has lost much of its natural vegetation. BMWF is partnering with the Montana Native Plant Society to rehabilitate the area. Volunteers will be planting native plants, and working to install a new outhouse to mitigate user waste. With a little TLC and hard work, this area will be restored to a more natural landscape.
